From the First Moment I peered over the edge of the South Rim into the unfathomable abyss of the Grand Canyon, I could feel the allure of the great river over a mile below. My eyes traced the shimmering water as it went in and out of sight, cutting deep into a mysterious gorge before reappearing as a glint of sunlight far downstream.
