↑ Inuvialuit Settlement Region, Northwest Territories, Canada After three years of chasing caribou across the Arctic, there was one element of the photographic story that was missing. I was grateful to receive funding from the FUJIFILM GFX Challenge Grant Program and the National Geographic Society to support a final journey to the frozen North. This time I was able to photograph a famous herd of caribou, domesticated reindeer. Caribou and reindeer are the same species, but reindeer are primarily found in Europe and can be wild or domesticated. Canada’s last reindeer herd is pictured here migrating towards their calving grounds on a sub-zero spring day under the care of Indigenous Inuvialuit herders.  Image by: Katie Orlinsky
